A few weeks ago, a new bike was added to my stagble.   Well, an old bike, but new to me.  She’s a homely red and yellow XL600R from 1985, and it was love at first sight.  I had a few jobs to do before she was ready to ride (full service, fork oil, grease nipples, new rubber and weld gaping holes in frame) but as soon as it was done, I had to go give her a test in our backyard: Kenya’s Rift Valley.  So, one lazy Monday morning, the Panic Mechanic and I hit the dirt.
