In Thailand, there is not much dangerous road but lot of flat street. More information about Thailand Road Trip, how to apply license and routing.

Hi Pimmy

Welcome to the forum

I visited Thailand in December for three weeks to celebrate turing 50 years old

I went by road in a car from Bangkok - Sukhothai - Phu Sang - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Kamphaeng Phet - Kanchanaburi - Cha'am - Bangkok

I thought the roads were good for the majority of the 3000km

I loved the place, love the counters at the traffic lights, the U-Turn system.

However, there was lots and lots of roadworks

It is a wonderful place to visit and I cannot understand people who sit at Phuket for 10 days and see nothing of Thailand - took hundreds of photos

The Thai people are lovely to interact with

I agree with you and really do not understand people who very chill out and stay at a property all the time.

:)

I actually have small house publish in Chinese style in AirBNB.  I met many people who just stay in the house.. maybe it is too comfortable  lol

Refer to driving around Thailand with your own bike or car, it is tool costly and trouble with registered process. May be one of reason that people won't do it.
