KLR Luggage Rack - Version III
« on: April 16, 2017, 12:43:21 PM »
So it after re doing the aluminium spacer/mounting for my top box a second time metal fatigue has set in once again.
Decided to toss out the metal&plastic OEM rack and fab a new plate using 4mm steel plate.
Plate drilled and undercoat applied.
As well as a spacer cut from plywood shutterboard.

Assembled it all and it looks quite good.
Added 4 U bolts to hook my bungee or cargo net to as well.

This is by far the sturdiest mounting I have had for the top box.
Time will tell if it holds up to the KLR vibes...
