So you think you're hardcore ...

with your big adventure bike and panniers and all your kit?

Meet Pasha from Russia.

He purchased his bike in JHB and has ridden from there through Swaziland, along the Natal coast, up Sani Pass, through Lesotho and down to PE.

The only issues so far where 2 punctures.

Here he is with his fully kited bike, ready to hit the road (with a howling headwind) for another 230km down to Plett.

He barely speaks any English, but with the help of his Samsung we understand each other very well.  The look on his face tells you he's having a great time.

So, if you spot him on his way to Cape Town, stop and have a Samsung chat.  Let's keep the man moving.  He's an awesome fella!

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

I met him yesterday on the Rooiels Road (Clarence Drive) and I struggled to communicate with him

He said he needed oil but fortunately a garage was less than 5km away and pointed him in that direction.

Had I not been in somebody else's car, I would have fetched it for him.

I took some pics for him on his phone and he was quite insistent they be in portrait mode for Instagram.

I have a photo and if there is an interest, I can post it

That shirt and pants must be walking on their own by now!   Hope they've had a wash in the meantime.
